What to Expect

While 21.2 million Americans suffer from substance use disorders, only 11% of those individuals get the help they need. If you are ready to seek treatment, Matthew’s Hope Foundation Intensive Outpatient Program (MHF IOP) is here to help. You can learn what to expect from our program and how to begin the admissions process 24/7.

How IOP Works

Starting treatment can feel overwhelming, especially if you’re unsure of what to expect from an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). At MHF IOP, our tailored program provides a structured and supportive environment designed to help clients maintain their daily responsibilities while focusing on recovery.

In an IOP, clients receive evidence-based therapy, peer support, and holistic care to address the underlying causes of addiction. This level of care allows you to live at home, continue working, or attend school while participating in recovery programming sessions multiple times a week.

Each client’s recovery journey is unique, and so are the challenges they face. At MHF IOP, we help guide you every step of the way with an individualized approach to recovery and comprehensive support. Our program also includes recovery coaching from credentialed peer support specialists and advanced microcurrent neurofeedback, which calms the nervous system and enhances your ability to fully engage in the recovery process.

Step 1: Admissions

The first step in your IOP journey is to complete the admissions process. At MHF IOP, addiction specialists will guide you through every detail, from understanding the program options to completing intake forms. They’ll also verify your insurance coverage and discuss alternative payment plans to make treatment as accessible as possible.

Step 2: Comprehensive Assessments

Before starting our program, our team conducts thorough assessments to create a customized treatment plan. These assessments include evaluations of co-occurring disorders, such as depression, anxiety, and trauma, which are often linked to addiction. Identifying and addressing these factors is essential to building strong recovery capital which fosters a strong foundation for long-term recovery.

Step 3: Intensive Outpatient Therapy

Upon completing your assessments, you will transition into the structured group sessions that form the cornerstone of our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) care. During IOP, you will participate in group therapy for three hours per day, three days per week, as well as one individual counseling session tailored to your unique needs. Group therapy promotes peer support, enabling you to build a community of individuals who understand and share your challenges and aspirations.

Our program also incorporates IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback Technology, a cutting-edge therapy that promotes relaxation and balances the brain and nervous system. This unique approach helps clients feel calmer, more focused, and better equipped to engage in therapy. We also provide individualized recovery coaching and peer support to empower you throughout your recovery journey.

Step 4: Long-Term Recovery

At MHF IOP, we believe recovery is a lifelong journey. After completing our IOP, clients transition to aftercare programs that provide continued support. This includes access to alumni groups, ongoing neurofeedback sessions, and peer support to help you maintain your progress.
